Eurosonic
Bass strings
Designed as an alternative to
costly and problematic gut strings, Eurosonic Bass Strings
are primarily a pizzicato string that are developing a cult
like following with many jazz and bluegrass musicians.
 Eurosonic
Bass Strings have a unique design that sets them apart from
all others. First is the inner core which is a braided cord
consisting of steel and silk. Silk is the key to the low
tension, gut like tones and the steel adds tuning and
intonation stability while adding the ability to work with
magnetic pickups. This cord is then tightly wrapped with a
blend of non-ferrous and noble metals (copper, nickel, zinc,
tungsten, etc.). Finally, they are wrapped with a specially
shaped and ground polymer with no color additives giving
Eurosonic strings a unique, almost translucent look.
Eurosonic Bass Strings have a gauge that is comparable to
many old gut strings (new gut strings are MUCH thicker as
they have not yet stretched).

“EUROSONIC strings provide a great alternative to gut.
They have all of the great qualities of gut combined with
the stability of metal, a perfect marriage. I've had the
opportunity to check them out on a number of basses and
once they are played in, the results are the same; great
tone, projection and playability combined with superior
workmanship."
-Dave Santoro, CT Double Bassist
“As a
pizzicato string, they offer a huge, full sound that
feels great in the left hand. The same boom that is
characteristic of gut strings is also prevalent in
Eurosonic.”
“If you are a pizzicato player who has tried just about
everything, these strings will raise your eyebrows with
their modern feel and tone.”

Eurosonic Orchestra Strings
We are proud to introduce our own brand of bass strings made
especially for arco playing. These are a standard steel
ropecore construction and provide a complex warm tone that
speaks easily. We encourage you to try these out and compare
with Helicore, Spirocore, and Obligato Bass strings at 2/3
the cost. Feel free to ask your sales rep about a trial.
Eurosonic Cello Strings
Along with the production of quality orchestra style bass
strings, we were also able to introduce similarly
constructed cello A+ D strings that provide incredible tone
and response at a very reasonable price. In fact, many
shops, including a top-notch Boston maker, have compared
these strings favorably to Larsen A and D strings. We are so
confident about these strings that we have replaced the
Larsen A and D strings with Eurosonic on our cello setups
and have found them to compliment the Spirocore Tungsten C
and G strings perfectly. |
